Michael Marriott at Barona

Famous rosarian Michael Marriott of David Austin Roses, flew all the way from England to inspect his new roses that were planted in February of this year.

We worked with SDUT’s “The Rose Man,” Dick Streeper, to coordinate Michael’s visit and plan the rose dedication to Barona’s Chairwomen.

Great Way to Start the Day

So I woke up at about 5:30 this morning and, as I always do, I checked my Blackberry. Sick, I know. But I was pleasantly surprised by an email from a travel writer who had stayed recently at one of our client properties, the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina. The writer, Linda Perry, is the editor of Peachheadfamilies.com, which is one of the top family oriented blogs on the blogosphere. Linda wrote to tell me that she has posted her review of the Hyatt and to thank us for making her stay so enjoyable. Giving Gas to the Elderly

Whew! What a day yesterday was. So it went a little something like this. Barona Valley Ranch Resort and Casino is launching a month long promotion – The Tanker A Day Great Gas Giveaway – where from Sept 1 – Sept 27 a Barona guest will walk away with 4,000 gallons of gas. Our task was to help kick off this promotion.

So we came up with the idea of giving the first tanker of gas to a charity that is most impacted by the rising gas prices – Meals on Wheels. We arranged the event with MOW, wrote all the speaking points, etc. Barona arranged for the tanker. And voila! In lieu of a $20,000 check, Barona delivered a gas tanker and we delivered five television stations to cover the event. Here’s one of them.

Everyone’s happy. And that’s the way we like it.
